Another patient from Georgia found healing in Ordu. Tsıuri Bolkvadze, a 52-year-old living in Batumi, fell from a tree while picking mulberries. Falling from a height of 8 meters, she broke her spine. The unfortunate woman, who had undergone surgery in her country, continued to suffer pain for 6 months and became unable to walk. Upon recommendation, she applied to Medical Park Ordu Hospital Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birol Gürler, known for his successful operations. After a two-hour surgery, Tsıuri Bolkvadze regained her health and was relieved of her pain.
SHE STARTED WALKING ONE DAY AFTER THE SURGERY
Providing information about the surgery, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birol Gürler said: “The patient came to us with complaints of severe back and leg pain, numbness in her feet, and difficulty walking. Our examinations revealed that during her previous surgery, four screws were placed in her spine, two of which had gone through the spinal canal and lost function. Because the screws were insufficient and her pain and movement problems persisted, it was necessary to revise the surgery and correct the deficiencies. In our two-hour operation, we stabilized the damaged spine and placed eight screws. The operation was successful. The patient was mobilized and walked the day after surgery. All her pain and movement difficulties disappeared, and she was discharged back to Batumi in good health.”
